This summer, I kindda followed Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 4. I didn't get to watch every episode of it cause I'm not really a die-hard-fan, but when I've got time and is still up at night, I tend to watch this show.
This season of teen housemates are much more controversial compared to the previous seasons. Malalandi daw ung mga housemates ngayon. Puro love ang iniisip eh ang bata bata pa nila. Ako mismo nairita din talaga ako sa mga pinaggagagawa ng mga bata sa loob ng bahay. But as I watched PBB Teens, God somehow revealed to me that I was also like the housemates when I was they're age. I had my first boyfriend when I was 14, kung tutuusin bata ako sa lagay na un. So, with that said, I guess it's safe to say na malandi din ako noon at puro love lang din ang iniisip.

Older people (well at least those outside their "teen" years) would say, "iba na talaga ang kabataan ngayon." People judged the housemates based on who they were as kabataans. I'm not gonna say mali sila, or nasa 21st generation na kasi tayo because it is a reality na iba na talaga ang kabataan ngayon.
But is it really their fault? I would like to throw a question back to the 'older people', bakit ngaba iba na ang kabataan ngayon?
As 'older people', I think we are responsible and accountable to this teenagers. Bakit iba na ang kabataan ngayon? Maybe because we forgot to give them the attention that they need; maybe because more parents choose to work abroad leaving their kids alone thinking it is for their own sake; maybe because that is what they see from the older ones.
As people who are supposed to be more mature than these people, I think it is a challenge for us to be an example to them. To lead them in righteousness and help them find their identity and security in Someone that will never fail them.
I am glad that I had ates who corrected me and guided me in discovering myself when I was a teenager. Only now do I realize that being a teenager is crucial - how you live it will somehow define your life.
My heart gets really excited when it comes to the next generation. I for one am really willing to lay down my life just to mold and train next generation. How about you, are you willing to be examples to the next generation?
