What is grace? Grace is goodness undeserved. It is based on the decision of God to be good to us - not because we deserve it, but simply because He decides on it.
Grace is the antidote to hope abandoned. It is light at the end of every dark tunnel. It is new start following what we thought was the end.
Grace is stubborn love. It never gets tired of finding us. It is irrational and illogical, just like saying 1+1=3. When God could have opted to leave us suffering because of our wrongdoings, He chooses to rescue us and still be good to us instead. Grace is kindness that is not based on our performance. It is goodness simply based on a choice by God to love us no matter what.
