FREEDOM according to Miriam-Webster's Dictionary is the quality or state of being free: INDEPENDENCE, unrestricted.
one reason why i think people keep rejecting Christianity is because it has many rules. they thinkna maraming bawal or it's boring or you can't do everything you want because you are not free! they think that if they become a christian freedom is denied to them. my church pastor would always clarify to the church that being christian is actually being free.
i always think twice whenever the pastor preach that kind of message. yes, we are set free in the sense that Jesus died on the cross to pay for the penalty of our sins and so the bondage of death in us is already broken. but that does that make christians free- free?
you see being christian has rules and boundaries but they do not take away the freedom from us. the freedom part is when you choose which is which, and indeed when you choose christianity, it is expected of you not to lie, not to kill, not to steal and a whole lot of not to's. but when you choose otherwise, you think you have the ticket to violate all the not to's.
we all have a goal, dream and vision for ourselves. the idea of entering into the kingdom of God is this: God, you haave given me freedom so i choose to put my trust to you. and whenever we do that, whenever we put ourselves to that attitude whenever we are in a cross-road, the area that you need to travel on to reach your goal becomes narrower and narrower so that when trusting in God becomes your lifestyle, you would be walking straight in to your destiny :)
if you're the type of person who uses the freedom you have according to your way, you will always be in the abyss, with no sense of direction. it will be hard for you to find success or satisfaction because you keep doing things on your own. and even if you tested and tried that relying on yourself doesn't work, but you keep doing it, goodluck with that!
